The countdown to Christmas has officially begun! Christmas is one of our favourite times of the year here at Mount Pleasant Hotel, and Malvern is one of the most festive and scenic places to be. In this blog, we’ll be sharing some of our favourite things to do in Malvern at Christmas as well as some exciting upcoming events, so don’t forget to book your hotel in Malvern

Winter Glow

First up, it’s the Three Counties Showground Winter Glow. The Winter Glow consists of four immersive seasonal experiences, all in one central location. With day and night-time entertainment, there’s lots to choose from including ice-skating along with one of the region’s largest real ice rinks, magical trips on the Arctic Express train and visits to Santa Claus himself.

You won’t want to miss the Illuminated Light Trail and the giant Observation Wheel where you can experience the Malvern Skyline like never before. The Winter Glow will be running up until the 9th January 2022 so be sure to get on and book your tickets to avoid disappointment.

Winter Wonderland

The Winter Wonderland at Ralph Court Gardens is not to be missed. Open every day and scheduled evenings until 23rd December, one visit is sure to fill you with Christmas cheer. The Gardens will be transformed into a magical winter spectacle with Christmas inflatables, Victorian carollers, singing reindeer and Christmas stories from Boris the bear. Find out more on Visit Malvern’s website.

Pantomimes

Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without a pantomime. From 9th December – 2nd January, our friends at Malvern Theatres will be putting on a show for you – The Further Adventures of Peter Pan, The Return of Captain Hook. The panto will star West End and Emmerdale star Tom Lister as Captain Hook, Malvern’s favourite funny man Mark James as Smee and Lloyd Warbey from Disney Junior’s Art Attack. Find out more and book your tickets today.

Late Night Shopping

Whether you’re trying to finish off your Christmas shopping, you’re looking to treat yourself or you just want to get into the festive spirit, late-night Christmas shopping is a must. Festive markets and late-night shopping will take place across the Malvern Hills District over the next few weeks.

With multiple late-night dates scheduled in Tenbury Wells and the Great Malvern Christmas Market on Saturday 5th December, you’ll get your Christmas shopping done in no time. As well as Tenbury Wells, a selection of shops in Great Malvern and Upton will be staying open for late-night shopping to enable more opportunities to shop local this Christmas. Hikes

Is there any better way to experience the Malverns in December than heading out for a walk in some of England’s finest countryside? We don’t think so. There are all sorts of walks in and around the Malverns for all ages and abilities. Mount Pleasant Hotel is also perfectly positioned at the foot of the Malvern Hills with easy access to Worcestershire Beacon, Sugarloaf Hill and Summer Hill. Ideal for stopping off for a hot drink or meal in our Mulberry Tree Restaurant after your hike.

Food & Drink

One thing we can heartily recommend in Malvern is our award-winning restaurant the Mulberry Tree! Our Christmas menus in particular are the perfect addition to any festive adventure or celebration. You’ll be greeted with our usual refinements, plus some added festive sparkle.

Pop in for a festive afternoon tea or book a meal to celebrate with your loved ones and enjoy a delicious festive feast.
